Job description

CHEM Group is a custom chemical processor with expertise in various distillation technologies, pastillation, blending, reaction chemistry purification and heat transfer fluids.
We are currently looking for a 2nd shift Chemical Lab Technician in Evansville, IN. Starting pay is $20/hr - $24/hr depending on experience.
2nd shift hours: 4pm to 1am (Day shift hours will be required until training is complete)
What do I have to do?
โ€ข Perform laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support quality assurance, new product development, and product/process improvement objectives
โ€ข Carry out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analysis
โ€ข Prepare chemical standards, collecting samples for analysis, and shipping customer samples
โ€ข Constructing, maintaining, and operating standard laboratory equipment (i.e., titrators, pH meters, colorimeters, viscometers, gas chromatographs, etc.)
โ€ข Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked, properly equipped, and well organized
โ€ข Maintaining laboratory records with respect to current procedures, test data, and calibration records
โ€ข Recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues
โ€ข Use computers and perform mathematical calculations to interpret and present analytical results
โ€ข Keep up to date with technical developments (time saving & improve reliability methods)
โ€ข Conduct searches on identified topics relevant to research
โ€ข Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks
โ€ข Provide special assistance as required by production or during plant/customer trials
โ€ข Other job duties/requirements may be assigned or changed to adapt to business needs
โ€ข Responsibilities and training outlined in the RCRA Haz waste Job Duties Matrix
โ€ข Abide by the principles in the EHS&S mission statement.

Requirements
Skills and Education Requirements:
Required
โ€ข 2-4 years of relevant experience, specialized postsecondary training, or an associate degree in chemistry or equivalent field
โ€ข Excellent communications skills in both spoken and written English
โ€ข Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
โ€ข Overtime may be required particularly during peak seasons or specific project deadlines
โ€ข Problem solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively
โ€ข Flexibility to work in a small company atmosphere
