Job description

True Laurel, the acclaimed, innovative bar and restaurant from the team behind Lazy Bear and JouJou, is looking for a sous chef to join Chef de Cuisine Te’Sean Glass’s's team. True Laurel serves progressive cocktails alongside a refined take on California bar food using seasonal ingredients, 6 nights a week plus weekend brunch.

We are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our BOH leadership team. A minimum of three years experience required, preferably with some experience in a leadership position. The sous chef will oversee daily prep and production, oversee executive of service and maintain the quality and consistency of all items. The position will work a mix of day and evening shifts, including running both brunch and dinner services depending on the finalized schedule. Familiarity with local farms and purveyors is a plus, as is broad knowledge of cuisines and techniques. Strong knife skills, attention to detail, and cleanliness and sanitation standards are essential. At least some Spanish language skills are preferred.

Compensation is a competitive salary based on experience. Subsidized healthcare benefits available after eligibility period. Vacation & sick time available.
