The chief job of a Sous Chef at Walters is to support the Executive Chef and to act as the Executive Chef in their absence. We are actively seeking experienced candidates with a strong work ethic. This person can adapt and learn quickly. Sous Chefs should be a resident expert in kitchen operations. Sous Chefs communicate clearly and provide necessary direction to a team. Our chefs take pride in their work but can handle criticism.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Gets the right food to the right place at the right time
  • Completes food preparation and cooks according to recipes
  • Plates and presents food to meet standards
  • Transports food and equipment to venues for events
  • Oversees the kitchen food service during events
  • Maintains proper sanitation and cleanliness at all times

Qualifications:

  • Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent, culinary degree preferred
  • Required Experience: 1-2 years of successful culinary experience
  • Certifications: Serve Safe Food Handlers
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 30 lbs frequently, stand/walk 8-12 hours
