Chef Co information

What is Chef Co?

Chef Co typically refers to companies or organizations that provide professional chef services, either for catering, private dining, or consulting in the food industry. These companies may employ professional chefs who create menus, prepare meals for events, or offer culinary expertise to restaurants and hospitality businesses. Chef Co can also refer to businesses that recruit and manage chefs for various clients. Their main goal is to deliver high-quality, customized culinary experiences based on client needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a chef, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chef, you need strong culinary skills, creativity, and a solid understanding of food safety and kitchen management, often supported by a culinary degree or relevant certifications. Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, inventory management systems, and food safety certifications like ServSafe are typically required. Exceptional teamwork, leadership, and time management skills help chefs stand out in fast-paced kitchen environments. These abilities ensure consistent food quality, efficient kitchen operations, and positive dining experiences for customers.

What are some common challenges faced by chefs working in collaborative kitchen environments, and how can they be addressed?

Chefs in collaborative kitchen environments often face challenges such as coordinating with multiple team members during high-pressure service times, ensuring consistent quality across dishes, and managing communication between the front and back of house. Addressing these challenges involves establishing clear roles, maintaining open lines of communication, and adopting standardized processes for prep and plating. Effective teamwork, regular briefings, and a culture of mutual respect also contribute to a smoother workflow and a more positive kitchen environment.

Superior Equipment & Supply Co. – St. Francis, WI

First-Year On-Target Earnings: $100,000–$140,000+

Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Do you enjoy finding opportunities that others miss?

Do you thrive on opening new accounts, building relationships, and winning business?

Do you want to work for a company that gives you the products, resources, reputation, and support to succeed?

If so, we'd like to meet you.

Superior Equipment & Supply Co. is one of the Midwest's leading commercial foodservice equipment and supply companies, serving restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, universities, hospitality groups, correctional facilities, corporate dining, municipalities, military installations, and commercial construction projects throughout the United States.

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who enjoys creating new opportunities—not simply managing existing accounts.

This is a true hunter position.

Success in this role isn't measured by how many existing customers you visit—it's measured by the new relationships you build, the new accounts you open, and the revenue you generate.

If you're motivated by unlimited earning potential and enjoy the challenge of building a territory, this is an exceptional opportunity.

What You'll Do

Open New Business

  • Prospect new commercial customers every day.
  • Develop new relationships with restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, universities, hotels, correctional facilities, corporate dining operations, foodservice management companies, and commercial contractors.
  • Build relationships with chefs, foodservice directors, purchasing managers, facility managers, owners, architects, designers, and general contractors.
  • Generate your own pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, cold calling, and in-person visits.
  • Consistently open new accounts and expand market share.

Become a Trusted Advisor

  • Learn each customer's operation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Recommend complete foodservice solutions—not just individual products.
  • Sell equipment, smallwares, tabletop, janitorial supplies, disposables, furniture, and ongoing supply programs.
  • Develop long-term partnerships built on trust and exceptional service.
  • Become the first call customers make when they need foodservice solutions.

Drive Revenue Growth

  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Prepare proposals and quotations.
  • Collaborate with our purchasing, project management, inside sales, warehouse, and installation teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Continue developing existing customers through cross-selling and relationship growth.
Why You'll Be Successful at Superior

Unlike many competitors, we provide far more than a catalog of products.

You'll have access to:

  • Thousands of foodservice products.
  • Design and consulting services.
  • Government and commercial project support.
  • eCommerce solutions.
  • A Cash & Carry showroom.
  • Experienced inside sales support.
  • Purchasing and project management teams.
  • Warehouse and installation support.
  • A respected company with more than 40 years of industry experience.

We give you the tools to succeed so you can focus on what you do best—building relationships and growing business.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and in-person sales.
  • Self-motivated with a competitive drive.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred

  • Business-to-business outside sales experience.
  • Foodservice equipment or supply sales.
  • Hospitality sales.
  • Facility management sales.
  • CRM experience.

We believe top performers should be rewarded.

  • Uncapped Commission
  • Performance Bonuses
  • First-Year On-Target Earnings: $100,000–$140,000+
  • Unlimited Income Potential
  • Health Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays
  • 401(k) with Company Contribution
  • Company Laptop
  • Company Cell Phone
  • Mileage Reimbursement or Car Allowance
