Enchantment Resort is seeking an experienced and highly organized Banquet Chef to lead our banquet culinary operations in Sedona, Arizona.

The Banquet Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef, culinary leadership and event teams to deliver memorable dining experiences for weddings, corporate meetings, social gatherings, private dinners and resort programming.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can execute events of varying sizes while maintaining exceptional standards for food quality, presentation, timing and consistency. The ideal candidate will combine culinary creativity with strong planning, communication and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all culinary operations for banquets, weddings, meetings, private events and resort programming.

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on banquet menus, seasonal offerings and customized event experiences.

• Review banquet event orders and ensure all culinary requirements are clearly understood and properly executed.

• Plan production schedules, staffing, equipment and food preparation for upcoming events.

• Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, flavor, presentation, temperature and portioning.

• Ensure the timely preparation and service of all banquet meals.

• Supervise event setup, plating, service execution and breakdown.

• Communicate closely with banquet, catering, event and Food & Beverage leaders.

• Attend banquet event order meetings and operational planning sessions.

• Lead tastings for weddings, social events and prospective clients when required.

• Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies and customized menu requests safely and thoughtfully.

• Train, mentor and provide daily direction to banquet cooks and culinary team members.

• Create a positive kitchen culture focused on teamwork, accountability and professional development.

• Manage banquet food costs, labor, ordering, inventory and waste within established budgets.

• Maintain accurate recipes, production sheets, preparation standards and event documentation.

• Ensure proper receiving, storage, labeling, rotation and handling of all food products.

• Maintain banquet kitchens, storage areas and event spaces in a clean, organized and professional condition.

• Support restaurant operations and other culinary outlets when business needs require.

• Ensure compliance with all sanitation, health, safety and company standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Banquet Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine or senior culinary leader within a luxury resort, hotel or high-volume event operation.

• Demonstrated experience executing weddings, conferences, social events and customized dining experiences.

• Strong knowledge of banquet production, large-scale preparation and high-quality plated service.

• Excellent planning, organizational and time-management skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, train and motivate a diverse culinary team.

• Strong understanding of food costs, labor management, purchasing, inventory and production controls.

• Ability to read, interpret and execute banquet event orders accurately.

• Ability to remain calm, organized and solutions-focused while managing multiple events.

• Experience safely accommodating dietary restrictions and food allergies.

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Luxury hospitality or destination-resort experience strongly preferred.

• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
