Senior Security Architect with Checkpoint

Position Title: Sr Security Arch w/ Checkpoint 10 + years

Rate: $76/hour on W2 only

Job Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19102

F2F Strongly Preferred

Checkpoint Firewalls, includes IPSO/SPLAT/GAIA

Configuration, installation, and upgrading of Checkpoint firewalls hardware and software

Configuration and installation of checkpoint management stations

Responsibilities

This individual will be working in a very agile, high-availability Service Provider environment. This candidate will be responsible for analyzing, conducting risk assessments, configuring, and implementing firewall change requests within group SLAs. Responsibilities will include collaborating with business owners and X1 developers to best secure the network, without unnecessarily impeding development. Daily tasks may include incident response, monitoring, investigation, project implementation, and operational support. This position is onsite at the center city Philadelphia location; telecommuting is not an option.

Provides expert technical advice and counsel to management and mentors to less experienced firewall engineers. Assesses change implementation options, benefits and risks, and determines the most appropriate solution. Team-focused individual who steps in to assist when and where needed.

Extensive experience managing and maintaining enterprise class Check Point and experience with Juniper Firewalls a plus. Strong experience with management and support of Cisco Sourcefire IDS. Knowledge of routing, NAT, and TCP/IP networking. Expert understanding of risk assessment and delivery of specific technical solutions for change requests. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical abilities including packet capture analysis. Technical problem solving across multiple technologies. Ability to deal with changing priorities and multi-task several projects. Ability to work flexible hours as required.

Following Experience Required

Checkpoint Firewalls, includes IPSO/SPLAT/GAIA

Configuration, installation, and upgrading of Checkpoint firewalls hardware and software

Configuration and installation of checkpoint management stations

Following Experience Preferred

Juniper Firewalls (Netscreen, SRX)

IDS (Cisco Sourcefire)

Vulnerability assessments (Nessus, Qualys, etc.)

Various versions of Linux/Unix and Microsoft systems.

RSA SecurID manager

IPv6

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent training and experience. Approximately 8-10 years' experience with 2 or more in a senior role. Preferable Certifications CCSA/CCSE JNCIS-SEC/JNCIS-FWV SFCE
