Job description

Our client, a leading force in the hospitality development industry, is seeking a Command Center Engineer - Level III to join their high-impact IT Command Center team in Plano, TX. This is a fully onsite, direct-hire role where you’ll play a vital part in maintaining the performance, security, and availability of a robust enterprise infrastructure. As the Senior Engineer, you’ll take ownership of infrastructure implementation, monitoring, and optimization—supporting critical systems across hardware, software, networking, and data centers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs appropriately.
  • Act as an escalation point for junior Command Center Team Members and other IT staff.
  • Monitor server performance and maintain the server infrastructure.
  • Ensure network redundancy and disaster recovery.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security breaches.
  • Ensure infrastructure security and compliance with protocols.
  • Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply security patches as needed.
  • Work closely with Command Center Operations Manager and assume delegated authority as needed.
  • Interact with vendors to select and integrate new hardware or software solutions, as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • 9+ years of demonstrated experience in IT Infrastructure engineering, preferably within a Command Center environment.
  • Experience with analysis and resolution of complex problems for server hardware, application, and software integration, and deployment techniques in a multi-location environment.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), DHCP, DNS, and file-sharing technologies.
  • Experience with Active Directory and associated technologies (Group Policy, DNS, LDAP, Kerberos.)
  • Deep expertise with Linux distributions (Red Hat/CentOS preferred).
  • Supporting technologies including LDAP, Identity Management, Authentication, Load Balancing, Patch Management, and Security tools.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Hardware knowledge:
    • Servers: Dell/HP/IBM.
    • Networking: Cisco/Juniper/F5/Aruba/CheckPoint.
    • Storage: NAS/SAN familiarity.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and technologies (e.g., VLANs, VPNs, QoS).
  • Cloud service platform knowledge/familiarity – AWS/Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with SAN, NAS, and cloud storage technologies.
  • Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with various monitoring packages (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, etc.)
  • Must be available to work varied shifts including nights, weekends &holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Provide off-hours support on an infrequent, but as-needed basis during critical incidents. (Potential shifts may run 24/7 due to the needs of the business.)
