The Monroe County Area Agency on Aging is seeking candidates for a Fiscal Technician position. With our team, you will help provide the effective, responsible, and proactive clerical-accounting and bookkeeping work we to support our existing services and develop new programs that improve quality of life for Monroe County's older residents. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position performs advanced bookkeeping duties in recording, reviewing, processing, and controlling financial records and documents. The work also includes providing other fiscal, clerical, and administrative assistance to support office operation. As a Fiscal Technician, you will perform the following duties: Complete Invoice Processes: Encode invoices for payment and batch processing, prepare internal control vouchers, check weekly paid invoices and file appropriately, and mail cost share invoices Maintain Complex Bookkeeping: Compile and reconcile expense spreadsheets; process cost sharing billings; prepare payment requests and vouchers; input customer, provider, service delivery, legal, and client information; and run reports as needed Ensure Quality Control: Examine a variety of financial records and documents for propriety, quality, and conformance to established accounting procedures; establish and review internal processing procedures; and report fiscal and accounting issues and inconsistencies for further review Support Office Effectiveness: Prepare purchasing requests and maintain orderly supplies storage; prepare deposits; manage petty cash daily; and participate in other clerical and fiscal office functions as needed Assist Fiscal Administration: Help monitor and review grant expenditures, develop budgets, prepare required state and federal reports, and participate in on-going analysis of all financial transactions Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
