LOCATION: San Antonio, Texas

Job Description:

The Marketing Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the marketing efforts of our destination marketing organization in San Antonio, Texas. This position assists in the planning, development, and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns to promote San Antonio as a premier travel destination. The Marketing Coordinator collaborates closely with Marketing Managers and team members to drive brand awareness, visitor engagement, and tourism growth.

Essential Job Functions:

Supports Digital Marketing Efforts for Visit San Antonio

  • Website Content & CMS Management: Maintains website content and CMS functionality, including publishing pages and blogs; implementing SEO and AI-readiness recommendations; maintaining metadata and structured content; supporting organic data and service requests; and ensuring CMS and CRM integration.
  • CRM, Listings & Calendar Operations: Reviews daily CRM reports and maintains the Travel & FAM Calendar, member listings, events, coupons/offers, membership tiers, and event calendars for accuracy, tagging, formatting, timeliness, and compliance with Visit San Antonio guidelines.
  • Website & Partner Content Updates: Keeps Visit San Antonio and River Walk contact/staff pages, job postings, news releases, news articles, and Media Room categories current in coordination with HR and PR/Communications.
  • Chatbot & Website Reporting: Provides monthly chatbot analytics, seasonal content updates, periodic accuracy testing, and quarterly website member-mention reports.
  • Email Marketing: Partners with the Social Media Team and Marketing Manager to deploy monthly Leisure, River Walk, and Trade newsletters; analyzes campaign performance; recommends improvements; and deploys quarterly SATPID and Journey Together Executive Brief newsletters.
  • Digital Asset Management: Manages and maintains the Digital Asset Management system, secures and files talent rights, conducts photography outreach, and provides team training as needed.
  • Video Asset Management: Uploads and archives marketing videos in Vimeo, YouTube, and Cloudinary.
  • Visitor Guide Support: Supports the Visitor’s Guide and Event Program Guide by adding links and providing photo assets to Texas Monthly and/or the graphic design team.

Supports Miscellaneous Departmental Duties as Assigned by the Marketing Team

  • Integrated Channel Management: Works with the Marketing Manager and Social Media Team to align Visit San Antonio websites, content, and social media channels with monthly communication priorities.
  • Cross-Functional & Member Support: Supports organization-wide marketing efforts and liaises with members regarding ongoing needs.
  • Marketing Inbox: Manages department email account by responding promptly and accurately each week and filing completed emails.
  • Agency Content Support: Helps domestic and international agencies and cross-functional teams curate content for their initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing particularly experience managing website content and CMS functionality, including content optimization, SEO, metadata, structured content, and AI-readiness best practices.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in destination marketing or the tourism industry.
  • Knowledge of San Antonio's attractions and tourism industry.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of website governance, CMS workflows, content architecture, schema markup, and emerging AI-search optimization practices.

This position is a fulltime position, subject to local travel and/or evening and weekend hours on an as needed basis.
