Job description

What you can expect
Zoom Chat is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the core messaging experience, and how direct messages and channels will evolve to become simpler, more intuitive, and the backbone of how people get async work done. You will partner closely with Design, Engineering and Data Science to bring AI-powered and thoughtfully designed experiences into everyday messaging, shaping how millions of people communicate at work every day.
About the Team
The Zoom Chat Product Team focuses on driving adoption, daily usage, and long-term growth of Zoom Team Chat by delivering intuitive, integrated, and high-value communication experiences.
Responsibilities
  • Owning the core messaging experience end-to-end - from strategy and requirements through design, delivery, and post-launch iteration.
  • Defining and drive the roadmap to elevate core chat interaction patterns to meet the standard users now expect from how they communicate at work. Closing experience gaps identified through competitor and user research.
  • Partnering deeply with Design on interaction details, information structure, and visual polish. You should have extensive UI/UX sensibility to give direct, specific feedback on design work, not just requirements.
  • Identifying and scope opportunities to embed AI-powered capabilities into core messaging workflows, drawing on prior experience shipping AI-powered product features.
  • Translating customer, support, and research signal into clear product requirements and prioritized roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, and Research to scope, sequence, and deliver features against committed timelines.
  • Communicating roadmap, tradeoffs, and progress to stakeholders across product, engineering, and go-to-market.
  • Supporting a consistent, unified experience across desktop, mobile, and web clients.

What we're looking for
  • Have 5 to 8 years of PM experience, demonstrating end-to-end ownership of a product or major product surface. Not just contribution to parts of one.
  • Direct experience shipping AI-powered product features (not just AI-adjacent tooling) - able to communicate the product decisions, not just the underlying model.
  • Have extensive product and UI/UX sense - comfortable working shoulder-to-shoulder with Design on interaction detail, not just requirements docs.
  • Have experience in messaging, collaboration, or communication products .
  • Track record of using competitor and user research to identify and close experience gaps against industry-leading products.
  • Be comfortable with a flexible schedule to support real-time collaboration with globally distributed teams, including regular early morning or evening meetings.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication; able to frame tradeoffs for both engineering and executive audiences.
  • Be comfortable working across standard PM tooling for roadmapping, specs, and prioritization.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$124,000.00
Maximum:
$271,200.00
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
