Job description

This is a unique opportunity for you to work in the Chase Travel team to provide assistance with the monthly financial close process. When you join our Accounting team, you are a part of JPMorgan Chase, one of the world's most innovative banks. Be part of our exciting journey!

As a Controller on the Chase Travel team, you are responsible for overseeing the month-end close and accounting operations-reviewing/approving journal entries, reconciliations, billing, treasury and filings-while supervising and developing the team and driving automation/process improvements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with the month-end close calendar and pre-approved schedules
  • Supervise staff and senior accountants and ensure that all month-end close activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure continued support of Chase accounting processes, as needed
  • Review and reconciliation of bank accounts and treasury functions
  • Review and approve client billing and client invoicing process to ensure that all invoicing adhere to client contract and terms
  • Lead automation and efficiency initiatives, including the implementation and use of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technologies
  • Oversee completion, review, and submission of periodic local and international government filings. 
  • Coaching and provide continued development of accounting team to support the achievement of professional goals. 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 6+ years of experience in Accounting (GL, AR, AP)
  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office software, especially Excel
  • Previous experience in large ERP systems required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical skills - including the ability to present results.
  • Strong leadership skills - combined with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated sense of urgency to produce results
  • Innovative, creative and a problem solver
  • The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while focusing on completion of the highest priority items in the shortest time frame possible.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the handling of large data elements is preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
