Job description

Location: Chevy Chase, MD (Red Line Metro Access)
Position Type: Full-Time, In-Office Only
Must Be Located in the Washington, DC Metro Area

Liptz, Roberts, Marquez, Merkle, Singh & Zipor, Chartered is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant or CPA to join our growing CPA firm. We are looking to hire immediately and are seeking candidates with at least 3 years of public accounting and tax experience.

This is an in-office position only. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065)
  • Prepare tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments
  • Calculate projected tax liabilities
  • Develop supporting workpapers for tax engagements
  • Perform bookkeeping and accounting write-up services
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and cash flow reports
  • Process payroll and prepare payroll tax returns
  • Record adjusting journal entries
  • Assist with compilations and other accounting engagements
  • Analyze financial data, budgets, and business operations
  • Work directly with clients and partners on accounting and tax matters

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of tax preparation experience
  • Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Stable work history
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred:

  • CPA license or CPA candidate
