The Governance Council is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, forward thinking, innovative, and knowledgeable Special Education leader who can foster and maintain a collaborative culture with the 40 JPA member school districts and charter school members.
The CAHELP JPA consists of the Desert/Mountain SELPA (21 member districts), the Desert/Mountain Charter SELPA (19 member charter school organizations), and the Desert/Mountain Children’s Center. The Governance Council is the JPA governing body and is composed of Superintendent representatives of the Desert/Mountain SELPA plus two charter CEO’s representing the charter SELPA. The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools is the employer of record and fiscal agent for the CAHELP JPA.
The Governance Council desires a long term relationship with the selected candidate and anticipates a starting date of mid-October. This will give a period of transition time with the current long serving CEO who is retiring.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all items listed below are submitted:
- Completed Edjoin on-line application;
- Letter of application/introduction describing how the candidate’s experience, skills and abilities meet the minimum qualification of this position;
- Current resume;
- Proof of master’s degree;
- Copy of valid California Administrative Services credential;
- Three (3) current letters of reference, one of which must be from your current direct supervisor. The letter from your current supervisor may be substituted with a copy of your most recent formal evaluation.
