Chart's Bearing Repair Technician position plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart's products. Chart's Medina, OH location is currently seeking candidates interested in a Bearing Repair Technician position. This position responsible for working within the overall Service Center team to accomplish the goals of the business in the areas of EHS, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Operating Costs, and Productivity improvements. 

What Will You Do?
  • Support the work of all other shop floor personnel while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Performs necessary disassembly, diagnosis, inspection, and reassembly of a wide variety of fans and compressors. Inspection may include visual and/or instrument examination. Evaluates the condition of existing parts/components, for possible reuse or replacement.
  • Willingness to work with other team members in a learning and teaching environment.
  • Performs any tests such dimensional verification, leak tests, visual examinations.
  • As required, operates any equipment necessary to accomplish the repair and rebuild of all customer units.
  • Completes written records, such as check sheets, clearances, pressure tests, inspection reports, etc., as required.
  • Secures units and parts in preparation for shipment. Duties include some painting and packing as required.
  • Operates fork truck, overhead crane, company car or pickup truck, for the purpose of loading, unloading, within the Service Center.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area, including such duties as sweeping, emptying trash containers, spillage cleanup, and disposing of scrap parts in the shop, and stacking and organizing parts/units in storage/staging areas within the Service Center.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require...

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Your Experience Should Be...
  • Experience in rotating equipment bearing assembly and gearbox repair
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
  • High school diploma/GED with at least 3 years of large equipment repair experience
  • Understanding or qualifications with NDT testing (Penetrant and Magnetic particle)
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour training
  • Prior work experience with screw compressors, centrifugal fans, axial fans, turbo equipment, and reciprocating compressors and components.
