Job description

Full-time | On-site | Modesto, California

Pay Scale: $200,000 - $400,000 Per year

Lead the next chapter at Valley BMW

Valley BMW is looking for a proven dealership leader whoโ€™s ready to take the wheel of a high-potential operationโ€”and elevate performance, culture, and customer experience to the next level. If youโ€™re the kind of GM who builds winning teams, drives disciplined execution, and takes pride in doing things the right way, we want to hear from you.

About Valley BMW

Valley BMWโ€”part of the Fitzpatrick Dealership Groupโ€”has been a trusted name in the Central Valley since 2000. Based in Modesto, CA, we deliver the BMW experience through a customer-first approach, a strong selection of new, pre-owned, and Certified Pre-Owned BMW vehicles, and modern tools that make ownership easier (online service scheduling, streamlined financing, and a seamless dealership experience).

Weโ€™re proud of where weโ€™ve beenโ€”and focused on where weโ€™re going next.

The Role

This is a full-time, on-site General Manager position responsible for the overall success of the dealership across Sales, Service, F&I, Parts, and Administration. Youโ€™ll set the standard, align departments, and lead with clarity and accountabilityโ€”creating a culture where great people do their best work and customers feel the difference.

What Youโ€™ll Own
  • Full responsibility for dealership operations, performance, and execution across all departments
  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams with strong coaching and leadership presence
  • Driving customer satisfaction, reputation, and loyalty through consistent, exceptional experiences
  • Building and executing growth strategies that improve profitability, market performance, and operational efficiency
  • Owning key KPIs and financial resultsโ€”forecasting, analyzing, and adjusting quickly to maximize outcomes
  • Overseeing inventory strategy and merchandising to support sales velocity and margin performance
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards while promoting integrity and professionalism
  • Creating a positive, energized culture built on accountability, teamwork, and measurable results
What Success Looks Like
  • A dealership that runs with alignment and urgencyโ€”no silos, no surprises
  • Strong, consistent performance across volume, gross, CSI, retention, and profitability
  • A team culture people want to be part ofโ€”high standards, high support
  • Customers who return, refer, and genuinely trust the Valley BMW experience
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience with team management and operational oversight (dealership leadership strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of automotive sales, service operations, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to develop and execute business strategies that drive growth and profitability
  • Strong command of business tools, dealership systems, and financial analysis
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business/Management (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • A leadership style rooted in accountability, consistency, and customer-first thinking
Why Valley BMW

This is an opportunity to lead within a respected dealer group, represent a world-class brand, and make a lasting impact in a key Central Valley marketโ€”while building a dealership culture youโ€™re proud to put your name on.
