Position: Campus Sub (Part-Time) 2026-2027 School Year
Supervisor: Principal and/or Assistant Principal
Work Site: The Main Street Academy; College Park, GA
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
Performs related duties of a classroom teacher to provide continuity in the day-to-day responsibilities during the absence of the regular employee. Note: Substitute employees are employed on an as needed; however, should plan to work daily on school days Monday-Friday. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages classroom and provides instructions according to plans as prepared by the classroom teacher
  • Provide positive student behavior management techniques
  • Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in each subject area
  • Actively supervise students during recess or break times
  • Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
  • Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
  • Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
  • Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
  • Other light duties as assigned by Principal, Operations, or Food Service
  • Work hours between 7:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Could vary based on school needs)
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Experience Qualifications
  • None required; Experience working with children preferred
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
  • May require stooping or crouching
