Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with directing and supporting all aspects of religious programs.
Support the approval, coordination, and training of lay and clergy volunteers from faiths represented in the population.
Assist with holding religious services and prayers.
Help coordinate religious volunteers from the community.
Provide religious and spiritual counseling under the direction of the Chaplain.
Assist with preparing and maintaining a schedule of all religious activities.
Help maintain the religious resource directory.
Assist with notifying detainees of serious illness, death, or disturbing events.
Support notifications to detainees' families regarding serious illness or death when assigned.
Assist with reviewing and distributing approved religious publications.
Maintain communication with faith communities and assist with approved donations of equipment or materials for religious programs.
Promote development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behavior and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
Assist with maintaining accountability of offenders and religious program property.
Required Knowledge Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
