Use your strengths as a Sales Channel Specialist!

As a Sales Channel Specialist, you will be responsible for Iowa and South Dakota agency administration, agent licensing and appointment, and internal Wellmark credentialing. This includes ensuring fulfillment of all Department of Insurance (DOI), Medicare, and Wellmark requirements. Additionally, this position works with Sales staff to document training completion and other administrative requirements for agent and internal sales representative licensing and appointment. This position supports ongoing use of sales systems and sales processes across the Sales & Marketing division, including all sales size segments. Duties include preparation of information and presentation to committees consisting of internal Sales & Marketing staff.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or direct and equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ year of previous work experience:
  • In sales administration or in an operational support role.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment within insurance or financial services.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word or other applications as required for the performance of the job. Technical aptitude to learn new systems quickly.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to process complex information and data. Demonstrated commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide clear, logical information to staff at all levels, including external customers.
  • Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills with the ability to adjust workflow in order to meet department goals. Ability to operate effectively in an environment of deadlines and high workloads.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently or as a team member in a high volume work environment. Ability to make independent decisions and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform effective follow through on processes and projects, and define business rules within the timeline of the project, if necessary. Ability to document administrative methods and procedures
Additional Information

What you will do:

a.  Responsible for maintaining Wellmark internal sales representative, and Iowa and South Dakota external agency and agent information in the Wellmark source system. Includes responsibility to help manage Wellmark and agency organizational hierarchy information.
b. Serves as the initial contact point for new agency requests and works with Sales and Channel Management personnel to evaluate.
c.  Process changes in agent/agency of record and/or internal sales representative changes.
d.  Participate as subject matter expert on projects pertaining to Wellmark Sales and external agent licensing, management and organization.
e.  Ensure personnel and systems fulfill all Department of Insurance, Medicare (CMS), and Wellmark guidelines.
f.  Support ongoing use of systems and processes in the Sales & Marketing division meeting Wellmark corporate standards.
g.  Track and report on training information for internal and external parties.
h.  Serve as a resource to agencies with questions about Wellmark processes.
i.  Create and coordinate mailings and communication to agencies.
j.  Prepare ad-hoc information and presentations to internal teams.
k.  Other duties as assigned.
