Residential Energy Efficiency Account Manager
Remote/Home Office/Field Based | South Carolina
Job Description:
To support the launch and delivery of South Carolina's Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) programs, we are seeking an Account Manager to train, onboard, and manage participating contractors across the state.

This role will focus on helping contractors understand program requirements, rebate processes, documentation standards, eligible measures, customer eligibility, quality expectations, and QA/QC requirements.

The Account Manager will serve as a primary point of contact for contractors, provide field-based support, monitor contractor performance, oversee QA/QC activities, and help ensure program participation aligns with state program guidelines, customer service expectations, and quality standards. This position is ideally based in Columbia, SC, as regular engagement across South Carolina is expected.

What you will be doing:

  • Train participating contractors on HOMES and HEAR program requirements, eligible measures, rebate pathways, documentation standards, and customer eligibility guidelines
  • Support contractor onboarding, enrollment, and ongoing participation in South Carolina's state-run home energy rebate programs
  • Serve as a primary contractor relationship manager, answering questions, resolving issues, and reinforcing program expectations
  • Monitor contractor performance, participation trends, application quality, and adherence to program processes
  • Coordinate contractor communications, training sessions, office hours, and program updates to support consistent delivery statewide
  • Provide field-based support for contractors, including site visits, installation follow-up, QA/QC oversight, inspection coordination, and issue resolution as needed
  • Oversee QA/QC processes by reviewing project documentation, coordinating quality reviews, tracking corrective actions, and supporting contractor compliance with program standards
  • Review project documentation and support accurate rebate application submissions in accordance with program guidelines
  • Collaborate with program leadership, quality assurance staff, and state program stakeholders to identify contractor needs and improve program delivery
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and recommendations related to contractor activity, training needs, market barriers, and program improvement opportunities


What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • High School Diploma and4+ years of related work experienceORBachelor's degree1+ years of related work experienceAND1+ years of experience supporting energy efficiency, residential electrification, utility rebate, contractor management, or related programs
  • Experience supporting quality assurance, quality control, inspection coordination, or compliance review activities for energy efficiency, construction, contractor, or rebate programs
  • Experience communicating with contractors, trade allies, customers, or program partners in a professional setting
  • Ability to travel within South Carolina for contractor meetings, trainings, field support, and program activities


What we would like you to have:

  • Experience supporting HOMES, HEAR, weatherization, home performance, electrification, or residential energy efficiency programs
  • Knowledge of heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, insulation, air sealing, electrical panel upgrades, and other common home energy improvements
  • Experience delivering contractor trainings, webinars, office hours, or technical assistance
  • Understanding of rebate application workflows, program compliance requirements, QA/QC processes, inspection protocols, corrective action tracking, and customer eligibility documentation
  • Familiarity with South Carolina contractor networks, trade associations, utilities, or state energy program stakeholders
  • BPI, RESNET, HERS, building science, HVAC, or related energy efficiency credentials

Compensation: Although the posted range below is broader, this position is anticipated to offer a base salary in the $70,000-$75,000 range.
