You have experience working in a multi-channel, highly automated Distribution Center and enjoy supporting the leadership team in meeting and exceeding service levels while maintaining quality standards. Under the supervision of the department's leadership team (Manager, Supervisor, and/or Assistant Supervisor), as a Lead, DC Operations, you will support daily operations by helping to direct workflow and supporting associates in assigned team while rolling up your sleeves to help get the job done. By prioritizing tasks, training team members, ensuring compliance with safety and company policies, and supporting process improvements, you will positively impact the team's ability to achieve and maintain efficiency, accuracy and productivity. Assigned team sizes are generally less than 8 associates.

Operations & Workflow Management:

  • Assist, understand, and execute daily operational plans

  • Partner with leadership to ensure adherence to expressed plans related to labor scheduling, resource allocation and workflow coordination required to meet plan

  • Direct the workflow of associates in assigned team, ensuring efficient work allocation and floor coverage

  • Monitor productivity, identify bottlenecks, and provide solutions to maintain an optimized workflow

  • Monitor aged orders, priority shipments, and order fulfillment processes to meet service level agreements (SLAs)

  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently

  • Ensure all team members follow safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and equipment operation guidelines, promoting a 5S culture

  • Conduct equipment and facility inspections, reporting any unsafe conditions or hazards

  • Identify unsafe behaviors and performance trends and escalate for further support

  • Maintain warehouse security by ensuring proper handling of product and adherence to safety protocols

  • Monitor system-generated reports (e.g., carton aging, inventory variance, short picks) and take appropriate actions.

  • Assist in optimizing warehouse space utilization to ensure proper stock placement

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, studies, and projects to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Team Leadership:

  • Act as the first point of contact for associates to discuss workflow issues, concerns, or process improvements

  • Support supervisor in monitoring attendance, policy adherence, and performance management

  • Provide coaching to associates as it relates to completion of the assigned tasks

  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages engagement and accountability

  • Train and cross-train associates across various departments

  • Identify, research and solution for issues, challenges and discrepancies as they arise to prevent workflow disruptions, escalating as needed.

As a Lead, DC Operations, you may be asked to handle other duties and rotate to other departments as assigned in order to contribute to the overall success of the Distribution Center.

Additional Department Specific Requirements:

  • Inventory Control: Lead assigned team and support the achievement of inventory accuracy through cycle counting, auditing, and reconciliation, while minimizing discrepancies and supporting efficient operations

  • Packing: Lead assigned team and support the accurate and efficient preparation of customer and retail/wholesale orders for shipment, including the verification of items, packaging items according to brand standards, quality control, and timely shipment preparation

  • Picking & Replenishment: Lead assigned team and support efficient and accurate order picking, inventory restocking, and workflow optimization to meet fulfillment targets

  • Receiving: Lead assigned team and support timely and accurate unloading, inspection, and put-away of inbound inventory while maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards

  • Returns: Lead assigned team and support the efficient processing of returned merchandise, including inspection, restocking, and disposition decisions, to support inventory integrity and customer satisfaction

  • Shipping: Lead assigned team and support on-time and accurate order dispatch, proper carrier coordination, and compliance with shipping requirements to meet delivery expectations

To Land This Role:

  • H.S. Diploma/G.E.D or equivalent relevant work experience required

  • 1.5+ years of related experience working in a distribution environment

  • Experience with automation within a distribution environment and experience in a high volume/high value distribution center is a plus

  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office suite

  • Demonstrated understanding of operational processes and workflows

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize competing demands effectively

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish, maintain, and leverage professional relationships at all levels to provide tailored and substantive support with a positive demeanor, always maintaining professionalism

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have English proficiency (speaking and understanding)

  • Able to lift and move up to 35 lbs

  • Able to actively walk the warehouse floor; and stand for extended periods up to 12 hours

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays
