Job Summary

We are hiring at our 2 Childcare Centers in Sarasota!

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System established its first child care center in 1973 as a service to employees and their children.  The plan was to develop programs that would be accessible and affordable to employees, that would act as a recruitment and retention tool, and that would provide young children with the finest available child care environment and experiences.  Currently we have two licensed centers providing child care for children age six weeks to 5th grade.  Our staff seek to provide opportunities for the children to grow and learn in each of these areas according to his or her individual needs and abilities.  Teachers guide and enhance this process through planned activities and materials.  Through these diverse activities, staff help children develop a positive self-image along with a desire to explore and question the world around them.  


Required Qualifications

Childcare Assistant Teacher 1

Provides care for children in assigned groups stressing individual needs within the developmental framework of social, emotional, physical
and intellectual development. Assists in creating an environment and providing experiences which are conducive to a child's continuing
growth in these areas. Provides assistance in developing feelings of confidence and well-being by having opportunities for successful
encounters with adults, peers and their physical environment. Activities are provided to challenge the child within the context of his or her
appropriate developmental level.

- Require DCF Introductory 40 clock-hour Child Care Training comprised of Part I and Part II courses and 5 clock-hour (or .5 Continuing Education Units) Early Literacy and Language Development, or within 90 days of hire or transfer.  

- Require HS Diploma/Equiv

- Require a current Level 2 AHCA background clearance

*Salary Range: $17.35-23.60 hourly

Childcare Assistant Teacher 2

Provides care for children in assigned groups stressing individual needs within the developmental framework of social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.  Assists in creating an environment and providing experiences which are conducive to a child’s continuing growth in these areas.  Provides assistance in developing feelings of confidence and well-being by having opportunities for successful encounters with adults, peers and their physical environment.  Activities are provided to challenge the child within the context of his or her appropriate developmental level.

-Require DCF Introductory 40 clock-hour Child Care Training

-Require 18 months of related experience

-Require a current Level 2 AHCA background clearance

*Salary Range: $17.70-24.80 hourly

Childcare Teacher 1

Provides care for children in assigned groups stressing individual needs within the developmental framework of social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Assists in creating an environment and providing experiences, which are conducive to a child’s continuing growth in these areas.  Adheres to developmentally appropriate practice. Helps to develop feelings of confidence and well-being by having opportunities for successful encounters with adults, peers, and their physical environment.  Assists in planning for designated classroom(s).

- Require DCF Introductory 40 clock-hour Child Care Training comprised of Part I and Part II courses and 5 clock-hour (or .5 Continuing Education Units) Early Literacy and Language Development. 

-Require National Early Childhood Certificate (NECC); Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC); or Director Credentials with 5 years of experience working with young children; or Enrollment in NECC/FCCPC with completion in 12 months and 5 years of experience working with young children
-Require 2 years of experience working with children in a classroom setting.

-Education HS Diploma/ Equiv

-Require a current Level 2 AHCA background clearance

*Salary Range:  $18.00 - 26.05 hourly

Childcare Teacher 2

Provides care for children in assigned groups stressing individual needs within the developmental framework of social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Teaching staff provides activities to challenge the child within the context of his or her appropriate developmental level. Helps to develop feelings of confidence and well being by having opportunities for successful encounters with adults, peers and their physical environment.  Adheres to developmentally appropriate practice. Oversees team planning for designated class or classes.

-Require Associate degree in Early Childhood Education; or 

-Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education; or

-2 year degree or higher with 6 college credit hours in Early Childhood/Child Growth and Development

-Require a current Level 2 AHCA background clearance

*Salary Range: $18.35-27.30 hourly
