Are you a problem-solver who loves to be out in the field? This job is for you! Our Service Technicians provide mechanical repairs to washers and dryers at customer locations within their assigned region. Service Technicians keep our machines running smoothly to meet customer expectations or the need for repeated service needs. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working independently and has a very strong mechanical aptitude.

What you'll do:

  • Performs field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers
  • Uses test equipment to determine condition of machines
  • Examines machines during operating cycles to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts
  • Disassembles machine and examines mechanical and electrical parts
  • Replaces worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring
  • Replaces and adjusts motors
  • Reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys, and lubricates moving parts
  • Advises dispatch department of equipment in the field that should be replaced
  • Drives a company vehicle to and from work locations
  • Maintains company vehicle fluid levels, tire pressure, and keeps vehicle clean
  • Maintains stocks of replacement parts for servicing coin operated washers and dryers
  • Contacts apartment managers and customers to insure good customer relations

What we're looking for:

  • Good driving record
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess effective English communication skills (oral and written); bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish) are desirable
  • At least 2 years of mechanical experience and electrical knowledge and/or training
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly/hand truck
  • Prior washer/dryer repair experience is desirable
