Position Summary:

The Supervisor, Nursing Administration (commonly called the House Supervisor) is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling and directing all of the Nursing Services departments on their assigned day, evening, night and weekend shifts. This professional nurse assumes administrative responsibility for all departments of the Medical Center in the absence of the CEO, COO, CNO, and Nursing Directors. Requires broad knowledge of clinical and administrative nursing standards and practices, and regulatory, licensure, and accrediting agency requirements and standards. All aspects of work performed are managed with discretion and independent judgement is required. Decision-making responsibility includes accountability for consequences and results.


Minimum Education:

  • Associate degree or diploma in Nursing.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5 years recent experience in an acute care facility.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in leadership.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • Administrative supervision experience highly preferred.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

  • Current California RN license required.
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA PALS preferred
  • Fire Card
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) (within 30 days of employment
