At OTC Industrial Technologies our Finishing Technician II plays a critical role in keeping customer operations running smoothly-whether at our location or out in the field. This role is ideal for a skilled, mechanically and electrically inclined technician who enjoys variety, values quality, and takes pride in delivering top-tier service. Job Summary:As a Finishing Technician II, you'll play a critical role in keeping customer equipment running safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.

This role blends hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and customer-facing field service-both in our facilities and at customer sites. You'll work with advanced finishing, dispensing, and filtration equipment that often requires electronic diagnostics and basic programming, making this an ideal role for a technician who enjoys solving complex problems and seeing the direct results of their work. What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and service customer equipment in the shop and in the field Provide field service and maintenance support for industrial manual and automated equipment Support system installation, setup, and commissioning Partner with customers by answering repair and technical questions Accurately document work performed using company systems Prepare repaired or serviced equipment for safe shipment Rebuild used equipment for resale Maintain demonstration equipment, including: Performance testing prior to use Tracking use by employees and customers Cleaning, repairing, testing, and returning equipment to storage Assemble special projects and custom jobs as requested Participate in product training to stay current on evolving technologies Support product demonstrations alongside sales-both in the lab and in the field Assist with establishing repair and maintenance service contracts Help maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused lab environment What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade emphasis preferred) Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight travel 3+ years of experience in skilled trades or equivalent hands-on technical experience Two (2) certifications from primary Finishing, Dispensing & Filtration vendors (e.g., Graco, GEMA, Fanuc, Sames, CFT), or ability to obtain within the first 6 months 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Finishing processes and equipment Pumps and pump motors Tubing and piping routing/installation Related industrial equipment exposure Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to: Disassemble equipment Diagnose issues Clean, refurbish, replace parts Reassemble and test equipment Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment Comfortable reading technical manuals, safety rules, and procedures-and documenting work clearly Strong communication skills with customers, peers, and internal teams Familiarity with 5S and organized work environments Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Comfortable working in environments with paint, solvents, fumes, and moving mechanical parts Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and carry materials Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted Work environments may include: Moving mechanical parts Electrical equipment Fumes, airborne particles, paints, and solvents What Sets You Apart Adaptability: You adjust quickly, think on your feet, and stay effective in changing environments Accuracy: You take pride in doing it right the first time Dependability: You follow through and can be counted on Initiative: You don't wait to be told- you act Customer Focus: You care about delivering solutions, not just fixes Problem Solving: You enjoy diagnosing issues and finding creative solutions Planning & Organization: You manage time and priorities effectively Communication: You explain technical information clearly and confidently Collaboration: You work well across teams and build strong working relationships Why Join OTC Industrial Technologies
