Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Louisville, KY
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, plus overtime
About the Role: CFS Brands is seeking to hire a Forklift Operator at our Distribution Center in Louisville, KY. The Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, and shipping of products to meet company standards of safety, productivity, and quality. This includes the operation of basic forklifts in the handling of products.
Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner, recording all necessary paperwork.
  • Transport product to storage areas using proper equipment and efficiently stacking and storing product.
  • Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
  • Check product for accuracy in inventory, damage, and complete paperwork.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the facility.
  • Conduct operations and model behavior that promotes a safe environment including looking in the direction of travel, driving at an appropriate speed, and appropriate use of the horn.
  • Sweep and clean areas including trailers as needed.
  • Abide by all company rules and policies regarding conduct and safety.
  • Utilize RF scanners and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, distribution, manufacturing, or assembly experience preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift experience preferred; ability to become forklift certified and safely operate forklifts, including a Bendis forklift.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use basic hand and power tools to assemble crates, pallets, fixtures, or other shipping materials as needed.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, shipping documents, labels, and basic written instructions.
  • Basic math skills to accurately count, verify, and record inventory and shipments.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow all company policies, procedures, quality standards, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated reliability with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet business demands.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and climb as needed.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools, including box cutters, tape dispensers, drills, nail guns, saws, utility knives, and other tools required to build, assemble, package, or prepare products for shipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with varying temperatures, moving equipment, and noise while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, varying temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the shift.
  • Overtime, weekend work, and schedule flexibility may be required based on production and business needs.
