Job Responsibilities - Security Engineer

  • Architect, design, implement, and manage enterprise security technologies and controls across endpoint, network, cloud, application, and infrastructure environments.
  • Serve as the technical owner for key security platforms, driving configuration, optimization, automation, operational support, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead security initiatives focused on threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, risk reduction, and overall security posture enhancement.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance security architectures, standards, policies, procedures, and technical controls to support organizational security objectives.
  • Evaluate new and existing systems to ensure security requirements are met, performing risk assessments and recommending security improvements.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on security effectiveness while supporting audits, compliance activities, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, PCI, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Partner with IT, business, and application teams to implement secure solutions, provide security guidance, and promote security awareness across the organization.
  • Participate in incident response activities and on-call support as needed.

Job Requirements - Security Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Advanced or professional-level cybersecurity certification preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC).
  • 5+ years of professional and relevant work experience with 3+ years of cybersecurity experience in an Analyst, Engineer, or similar security-focused role.
  • Experience administering, supporting, and optimizing enterprise security platforms and technologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading security projects, initiatives, and cross-functional remediation efforts.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles, security operations, threat and risk management, incident response, security investigations, and security architecture.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across endpoint, server, network, cloud, database, and application environments.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, threat detection and response, identity security, exposure management, privileged access management, and security automation (SOAR).
  • Enterprise security tools and platforms utilized in this position include: CrowdStrike Falcon, DLP solutions, AIDR, Tenable Security Center, Qualys, Delinea PAM, KnowBe4 (Phish Alert and PhishER), XDome (formerly Medigate), Sumo Logic, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco security technologies, and Proofpoint.
  • Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR, email security, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, system hardening, cloud security, and identity security services.
