The Financial Analyst I position pays between $55,520 and $69,400; the Financial Analyst II position pays between $64,400 and $80,500; and the Senior Financial Analyst position pays between $78,640 and $98,300. Placement in any level is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

About This Opportunity 

New Mexico Gas Company is seeking a skilled and inquisitive Financial Analyst to join our team. Whether your background aligns with the Financial Analyst I, Financial Analyst II, or Senior Financial Analyst position, you will find no shortage of learning and growth opportunities to help you excel in your career. As a Financial Analyst,you will perform financial analysis and modeling in support of business projections, budget forecast, capital investment evaluation, and other corporate initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs calculations and studies, prepares charts, graphs, tables, spreadsheets and other analysis and presentation material in support of business transactions, forecasts, budgets, and analysis.
  • Analyzing, documenting, and updating the overall integrity and assumptions within the financial model used for corporate strategic and financial planning. Review, update, and maintain the model's integrity as needed to reflect the changes in the corporate structure, accounting and tax impacts and technology changes, to run alternative financial scenarios, as necessary. 
  • Researching, compiling, interpreting, and presenting competitive information and strategic summaries. 
  • Supporting and coordinating with all business units to create and/or maintain financial models using appropriate data. 
  • Participates and provides support in the evaluation and development of alternatives, financial analysis, and recommendations regarding business opportunities and asset utilization or deployment.
  • Provides support and review of regulatory filing and data submittals.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budget/forecasting/actual variance analysis reports. Analyzes results and prepare analysis summary and monthly variance explanations. 

We're Looking for Someone With: 

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline
  • A valid driver's license and meet the acceptable driving record 
  • Financial Analyst I: 0 years of experience
  • Financial Analyst II:  3 years of direct experience
  • Senior Financial Analyst: 5 years of direct experience
  • Preferences: Completion of a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or a master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field

Working Conditions

Normal office environment. May be required to work overtime and weekends depending on business need.
