Job description

Description:
The CET Administrative Assistant student worker will provide general administrative and operational support to the College of Engineering & Technology. This position will assist with front-desk operations, meeting coordination, office management, event planning, College communications, social media content, and other administrative projects. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, dependable, and comfortable communicating with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Front-desk receptionist
  • Assist in notetaking for meetings and organizing meeting minutes appropriately
  • Assist in CET email inbox and calendar invites
  • Assist with office management
  • Screen incoming calls and direct students and visitors to offices in a professional manner.
  • Assist with planning and executing CET & K-12 events
  • Assist with report & PowerPoint creation
  • Maintain College Bulletin Board and Newsletter
  • Assisting in content creation and posting on social media
  • Other duties as assigned

General Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Proficient in typing skills; type 50 to 70 wpm
  • Must possess excellent professional communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Must be proficient in the major Microsoft 365 platforms such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Forms, etc.
  • Must be able to work in 4+ hour shifts or have flexibility with hours.
  • Must be comfortable in communicating with internal GCU employees as well as external GCU stakeholders and partners (e.g., nonprofit organizations).
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and serve
  • Must be comfortable working in a professional environment with all levels of staff and faculty.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the
following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
