Certified Medical Assistant

City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and cancer treatment centers and outpatient facilities in the Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix areas.

The successful candidate:

Schedule: Monday – Friday, either 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Job Responsibilities

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs delegated patient care tasks for an assigned patient population. They will perform clinical tasks as well as administrative duties assigned by the Clinic Manager to facilitate the care of patients. The Certified Medical Assistant performs all responsibilities in accordance with all policy and procedure guidelines. The CMA provides care for all assigned patient populations. They will function under the direct supervision of the Medical Oncologist, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant for patient care activities. Their assignments, evaluations, and reporting structure are to the Clinic Manager/Supervisor.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Required Certification/Licensure:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

  • CPR certified

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum two years of medical/surgical or oncology experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Previous office experience desirable
