As a COMSEC professional you will serve as the primary Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Operating Account Manager (KOAM) and support as an alternate COMSEC manager on a traditional / manual DIAS account, following National Security Agency (NSA) and external customer guidelines. You will be based at our Cedar Rapids IA facility, working on site, providing critical COMSEC support and overseeing daily operations of the KMI account. Your attention to detail, time management skills, and organizational skills, with proper follow-through will be essential to your success as a COMSEC manager. Extensive understanding of the NSA CSSM Policy 3-16 or other agency COMSEC doctrine and their associated references will be utilized daily.
** This onsite position in Cedar Rapids, IA**
What YOU will do:
  • Work daily providing key support to multiple programs performing the production, manufacturing, and depot of COMSEC assets.
  • Utilize KMI software to document accountability actions.
  • Perform Device Registration Manager (DRM) or Device Local Type 1 Registration
  • Authority (DLT1RA) roles / responsibilities.
  • Perform KMI registration, initialization, and endorsements.
  • Responsible for the receipt, custody, issue, safeguarding, accounting, and destruction of COMSEC material.
  • Process incoming / outgoing COMSEC shipments.
  • Perform regular inventories, compliance validations, and incident reporting and investigations as necessary.
  • Tracking supersession dates, draft tracer actions, and submitting accurate and timely accounting reports.
  • Management of fill devices and other COMSEC equipment, perform software upgrades to ECUs and secure telephone equipment.
  • Provide on-the-job training to the COMSEC team, production, leaders, engineers, assemblers, and other COMSEC users in all aspects of COMSEC accountability, security, compliance, and established local COMSEC policy.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • KMI training certification.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Previous NSA COMSEC certification.
  • Security+ Certification Management of a COMSEC account in a production/depot environment.
  • Experience with End Cryptographic Unit management and load/update procedures.
  • Experience with troubleshooting COMSEC equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of legacy COMSEC equipment.
  • Experience in the management of Windows based information systems.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
