Certification Engineer
Department: Office CT
Employment Type: Full Time

Reporting To: Christina Underwood
Description
The Certification Engineer is responsible for preparing certification deliverables and providing guidance, support and expertise related to certification activities. This role coordinates certification efforts cross-functionally, ensuring alignment with internal procedures and regulatory standards. The position operates with a high degree of independence while collaborating with multiple departments to support timely, compliant certification outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, execute, and finalize all protocols and deliverables associated with certification work
  • Company focal for RTCA (DO-160), ASTM, SAE, and MIL STD test standards
  • Coordinate all certification activities through proactive communication with impacted departments and personnel
  • Provide guidance, as needed, to company personnel on FAA design and production approval holder requirements
  • Oversee certification processes and documentation to ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations
  • Review and evaluate certification procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely completion of certification deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project timelines and quality objectives
  • Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on certification-related requirements

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
4-7 years of relevant experience in certification, engineering, quality, or a related function
Strong understanding of certification processes, documentation practices, and compliance standards
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage moderately complex projects independently while contributing to team-based initiatives
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
