Job description

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Certification Engineer. In this role, you will provide engineering and technical support for the evaluation, testing, and certification of existing and emerging electrical technologies and systems. You will manage the certification process from project initiation through completion, supporting FAA certification activities while ensuring products meet applicable regulatory and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and able to manage multiple projects while collaborating with internal teams and external testing resources.


Skills and Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience testing and certifying electrical equipment.
  • Experience working with industry, regulatory, and/or military standards and specifications.
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), data acquisition systems, and other electrical test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-311A, MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F, and FAA Technical Standard Orders (TSO) is preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop certification test plans, test reports, and other required project documentation.
  • Execute certification test programs to verify compliance with regulatory and quality requirements while meeting established project timelines.
  • Coordinate testing activities with external laboratories and third-party testing resources.
  • Assist with prototype assembly, testing, and evaluation.
  • Design, build, or specify equipment required to perform certification testing.
  • Evaluate new technologies and product designs to improve certification processes while ensuring product quality, functionality, and safety.
  • Provide testing and certification support for production activities as needed.
