*This is a contract, traveling consultant role*
Job Description
The Oncology Consultant is responsible for driving the client through design of clinical and business process, solution and technology workflow, and successful adoption that will lead to achieved value. Through the use of the companies implementation approach and methodology, the Consultant will assist in change management, help identify opportunities for improvement, and is accountable for achieving the project’s targeted outcomes. The Consultant will provide expert industry knowledge in complex client environments; contribute in a leadership capacity to advance the solution and its effectiveness; consult with clients and project teams to recognize and document benefits; provide gap analysis and process redesign recommendations, support client and project teams; develop associate domain expertise (clinical, revenue and operational) and consulting skills; consults with client to develop and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
Required skills & experience (the “must haves” to be considered)
- Lead consultant on past projects
- Must have Cerner build experience
- Must have experience being the lead on a project from start to finish on an implementation
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of healthcare strategy, operations and ability to adjust to changing industry regulatory requirements 
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Nursing experience specific to Oncology OR EMR experience specific to Oncology
- 2+ years’ experience equivalent to Oncology
- Has participated in multiple phases of an integrated health system implementation
- Strong understanding of healthcare strategy, operations and regulatory requirements; experience dealing with varying healthcare organizations including integrated delivery networks community hospitals, academic and children's hospital systems and governmental entities 
- Understanding of complex data sets; ability to standardize and create meaningful analytics (financial, process and risk analysis)
- Experience leading and/or facilitating organizational change
