Job Summary
Maintains ceramics facilities and provides technical/instructional support to students and faculty in the safe operation of ceramics equipment. Maintains records of equipment and material inventory. Receives and processes palletized materials following safety protocols. Prepares clay and glazes for students. Organizes supplies and sets up classroom for teaching a variety of classes. Loads, fires, and unloads kilns as necessary. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in ceramics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related professional or academic experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience assisting in maintaining ceramic facilities in an educational setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and other internal/external groups.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures specified by equipment/supply manufacturers.
