Job description
Salary: $15,944.00 – $18,335.00 per month. New-to-state candidates may be hired at the minimum salary of the classification.
Location: Valley State Prison, Chowchilla, California. Relocation reimbursement may be available for eligible candidates.
Employment Type: Limited‑term (24 months) with possibility of converting to permanent. Full‑time, 12‑month set point (subject to re‑assessment).
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the 24‑hour, 7‑day operation of one or two correctional health care institutions and manage the delivery of a multi‑functional health care system including medical, mental health, dental, pharmacy, medication management, specialized care, and allied health services.
- Serve as the principal advisor to the Department and the Receiver on institution‑specific application of health care policies and procedures.
- Provide strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for all health care activities to ensure safe, effective, and compliant services.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in a correctional institution or serving underserved populations.
- Leadership experience in health care administration or population‑based health improvement.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MMM, etc.) or professional certification (e.g., CCHCP, FACHE).
