Overview

Salary Range $17.00 - $20.35 Hourly

Description

Central Valley Meat Company is one of the largest fully integrated Beef producers in the Western United States, controlling all aspects of beef production, including cattle sourcing, feeding and processing. Central Valley Company carries an expansive product line which includes fresh boxed beef, value-added ground beef, fresh seasoned beef, fully cooked beef entrees and deli meats. Harris Ranch Beef Company is currently looking for a Yard Hustler.

Yard Hostler Responsibilities:

  • Safely moving equipment around the yard using yard hostler truck.
  • Helping the Trailer Wash Crew by moving their trailers in and out.
  • Notifying management of repairs that need to be made.
  • Storing equipment in safe areas.
  • Conducting regular inspections to incoming and outgoing equipment.
  • Conducting inventory of equipment.
  • Checking refrigerated trailers for proper operation at frequent intervals.

Yard Hostler Requirements:

  • 1 year of tractor-trailer experience.
  • Physically fit. Must climb in and out of tractor frequently and walk yard to take vehicle inventory. Place trailer chocks and secure trailers.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in person and by radio.
  • Good eyesight.
  • Class A license not required but helpful.

Yard Hostler Schedule:

  • Weekend work mandatory.
  • Some overtime mandatory as needed.
  • AM Shift – Sunday thru Thursday. Days and start times will vary.
