Position Summary/Overview The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Specialist / Maintenance First Line Leader is responsible for providing leadership and daily supervision of the central maintenance organization. Additionally, it is responsible for providing technical expertise related to electrical and instrumentation infrastructure across the facility. This role combines handsโ€on technical support with frontโ€line leadership responsibilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of plant assets. This position leads central maintenance technicians, coordinates work execution, drives reliability improvements, and ensures compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Leadership Responsibilities Embrace and role model Qnity Foundational Principles and Values. Lead a team of up to 16 direct reports across all shifts, support site wide operations. Accountable for personnel management of direct reports including recognition, goal setting, coverage planning for time off, and performance management. Ensure safe and effective execution of maintenance tasks through safe work practices, procedures, and operational discipline. Participate in job cycle checks and daily line walks. Drive good shop and job site housekeeping. Coach, develop and provide regular and timely safety, behavior, and performance feedback to team members to build capabilities, align on expectations, and improve team effectiveness. Ensure proper training, competency development, and fitness for service for all employees on the team. Complete administrative requirements and standard work, including participating in daily and weekly scheduling and update meetings, reviewing and issuing scheduled and emergency work to personnel, following up and reporting on job status, reviewing work order and calibration documentation, leading team meetings, and ensuring initial, mid-year, and year-end performance partnership reviews are completed. Hire, retain, and develop talent to meet current and future capabilities. Drive improvement in work execution quality and accuracy. Report schedule compliance metrics and track misses and breakdowns for the central maintenance team. Daily interface with contractors scheduled to perform work on behalf of the central maintenance organization, including scheduling, safety compliance, quality of work and time management. Ensure contractor personnel are trained in specific skills competency for assigned tasks; i.e. confined space trained etc. Technical Responsibilities Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures and recurring issues. Provide next level support for electrical and instrumentation systems. Support calibration and testing programs for instrumentation and control systems. Ensure quality of interlock test procedures and other I&E central maintenance procedures. Provide technical recommendations for equipment upgrades and lifecycle management. Improve core I&E training across the site. Required Skills Strong leadership and team development capabilities. Knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, PLCs, and automation platforms. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to noise, heat, and various weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders, access elevated platforms, and wear required personal protective equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Required Qualifications 5+ years of industrial electrical and instrumentation experience. Delaware Journeyperson electrical license required along with the hours, qualifications, and willingness to achieve a Delaware master electrical license.
