Central Transport is one of the nations most trusted and technologically advanced transportation firm, is presently seeking out a Dispatcher candidate for our Warren, MI Headquarters. We are looking for aggressive, forward thinking, and highly motivated candidates to manage in this fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to learn our operations from a birds eye view and make advancements within the company. Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Dispatching a team of about 40 P&D Drivers
  • Relaying critical information between drivers and our vendors / terminal managers
  • Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiencies while monitoring a changing workload
  • Being aware of freight that is in transit
  • Assist and report issues that drivers face when they're on the road (i.e. flat tire)
  • Ensure facility Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are met and/or exceeded
  • Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
  • Provide / support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
  • Ability to work Monday- Friday 8am-6pm

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
  • High aptitude for technology
  • The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An associates or Bachelor's Degree, preferred but not required
