Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Centerless Grinder Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating centerless grinding machines to produce high-quality, close-tolerance metal components. The ideal candidate has hands-on machining experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and safety in a fast-paced production environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Cincinnati #2 or similar centerless grinding machines to produce precision parts within specified tolerances.

  • Install and balance grinding and regulating wheels; adjust fixtures, tooling, and feeds to achieve required surface finish and dimensions.

  • Inspect and measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to verify conformance to specifications.

  • Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and maintain production efficiency and quality standards.

  • Document production data, quality results, and machine maintenance records.

  • Maintain an organized and clean work area with all required tools, gages, and instructions readily available.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist in training junior operators or trainees as needed.

  • Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures throughout all phases of operation.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3+ years of experience operating centerless grinders in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred.

  • Working knowledge of machine setup, tooling, and precision measuring equipment.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and production specifications.

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations related to part dimensions and tolerances.

Physical & Work Environment
