Job description

Job Description Step into a hands-on operational role where you'll be at the heart of bulk plant activities, supporting critical cement and materials handling operations for a leading industrial services provider. This contract position offers consistent 12-hour shifts and the opportunity to work with modern equipment in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. About the Role: As a Bulk Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient, safe, and accurate handling of bulk cement and related materials throughout the plant.

You will manage day-to-day loading, unloading, mixing, and blending operations while maintaining equipment and inventory control. Your work directly supports field operations and ensures products are prepared, available, and delivered on time to meet customer demands. Key Responsibilities: Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, stage, and store bulk materials safely and efficiently.

Perform loading and unloading of bulk cement and other materials into trucks, silos, and storage vessels according to established procedures. Mix and blend materials to specified formulations, ensuring correct quantities, consistency, and quality standards are met. Monitor, operate, and adjust bulk plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and controls, to maintain smooth and continuous operations.

Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of plant equipment, identifying and reporting issues to prevent downtime. Use computer systems to record inventory movements, track stock levels, and generate required documentation and reports. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required to support operational schedules. Key Requirements: Proven experience in an industrial, plant, warehouse, or similar operational environment. Demonstrated forklift operation skills with a strong focus on safe driving and material handling.

Hands-on experience with loading and unloading bulk materials, preferably in a cement or similar heavy materials setting. Solid understanding of basic equipment operation and the ability to perform routine checks and minor maintenance. Competence in using computers for data entry, inventory tracking, and basic reporting.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and batch formulations. Physical ability to work 12-hour shifts, including standing, lifting, climbing, and working in varying environmental conditions. Reliable, safety-conscious work ethic with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills: Prior experience in bulk plant or cement plant operations. Familiarity with automated control systems or SCADA-type interfaces. Experience working under strict quality and production standards.

Knowledge of industrial safety practices, including HAZCOM and PPE requirements. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Any relevant industrial, mechanical, or process operations training or certifications is an advantage. If you're a dependable operator who thrives in a structured 12-hour shift environment and enjoys working with equipment and materials, this role offers an excellent opportunity to put your skills to work-apply now to be considered.
