Job description

Cemco Job Opportunity

CEMCO is recognized as the largest manufacturer of steel framing and metal lath in the western United States. During your first two weeks, you will be paired with a seasoned employee to introduce you to our environment and help you get comfortable in our house. The manufacturing facilities are heavily industrial with fast moving parts, heavy, sharp objects, and machinery. The environment is loud and subject to ambient conditions.

Job Summary

Responsible for safely operating a sit-down forklift to prepare, load orders onto trucks and trailers and maintain facility housekeeping standards. Performs the listed duties below in a safe, organized, and efficient manner.

Shift Hours

2:00 PM- 10:00 PM - OT may be required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Apply all safety practices and follow general safety rules, such as looking in the direction of travel, wearing seat belt, driving at an appropriate speed, use of horn, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), etc. while performing daily tasks.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to CEMCO's standards and policies, and to legal regulations, alerting management regarding potential concerns.
  • Safely operate a sit-down powered industrial forklift.
  • Perform and submit daily equipment self-inspection.
  • Prepare, pull, stage and able to pick loads safely within the given time frame, complex loads-45min., standard loads-30min. and simple loads-20min and load products onto trucks and trailers.
  • Pick, sort, and process material order per instructions on computer screen
  • Knowledge of finished goods and yard layout
  • Work with incoming and outbound trucking companies and personnel on pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Use hand-held scanner to record movement of products.
  • Review documentation and loads for accuracy and quality prior to shipments leaving the yard.
  • Conduct quality control inspections of finished loads.
  • Ensure forklift is kept clean and in good condition.
  • Maintain facility housekeeping standards. Clean breakdown area, yard, and aisles.
  • Contribute to CEMCO's success by welcoming related, different, and new requests, helping others accomplish job results.
  • Must communicate in an effective and professional manner and inculcate team building and support.
  • Knowledge of internal policies and procedures.
  • Regular attendance, punctuality, and ability to work overtime as needed.
Education And/Or Experience

High School or G.E.D, and related experiences and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experiences is preferred. Prior manufacturing, warehouse, forklift, and order picker experience of at least one (1) year is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Maintain Forklift certification.
