Description:

Experienced Tower Technician


We are looking for dynamic individuals who want to pursue an exciting and rewarding career as a Tower Technician! In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment on towers and rooftops. 80-90% of the time will be spent onsite climbing cell towers.


Travel is required and must be able to be out of town during the week and periodic weekends. When staying out of town company pays for hotel and overnight per diem is paid weekly. Travel is in IL, WI and IN.


Candidates should have 1+ years of telecom or climbing experience. Once selected for hire each individual will receive an in-house, paid training course to obtain the necessary certifications and skills to perform the work required by the job. The company provides all necessary equipment for training. Travel expenses are covered, and you will receive a per diem.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to climb and work at various heights on daily basis. Work at heights of up to 500 feet on towers, monopoles, rooftops and other structures.
  • Install and maintain telecommunications equipment on towers, including antennas, cabling, weatherproofing, coax and grounding.
  • Assemble and erect cell towers.
  • Use hand and power tools to install and position equipment and materials efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment to identify and resolve issues.
  • Gather of closeout information (photos, antenna height verification, etc.)
  • Other aspects of general construction such as light civil work, working with steel and other various labor intensive tasks.
  • Work as a team to function as part of a 3-4-man crew.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, especially while working at heights and in various weather conditions.

Key Requirements:

  • Valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Tower Technician or successful completion of a Tower Technician program.
  • Can pass a background check and drug test
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including out-of-state trips.
  • Willing to work outdoors year-round
  • Strong knowledge of rigging, connector installation, and coaxial and fiber routing.
  • Physical capability to climb up to 1,000 vertical feet daily.
  • Ability to perform tower rescues as needed.
