Description
We are seeking skilled and reliable Carpenters for Federal & Commercial Construction to perform a wide range of carpentry tasks on active construction and renovation projects. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in rough and finish carpentry and be able to interpret construction drawings accurately, and deliver high-quality, code-compliant work while meeting project schedules.
General Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Perform wood and light-gauge metal framing for walls, partitions, ceilings, soffits, and other structural and non-structural assemblies in accordance with project documents
  • Lay out walls, doors, frames, ceilings, and fixtures using accurate measurements, drawings, and layout tools
  • Install drywall systems, including cutting, hanging, fastening, and preparation for finishing
  • Install hollow metal and wood door frames, doors, and related components to required tolerances
  • Install door hardware, including hinges, locks, closers, panic devices, stops, kick-plates and accessories, per hardware schedules
  • Install acoustical ceiling systems, including suspension grid, ceiling tiles, light trims, and access panels
  • Install bath accessories, toilet partitions, blocking, and miscellaneous furnishings in compliance with ADA and project requirements
  • Install millwork, casework, shelving, backing, and specialty carpentry items
  • Read, interpret, and work from construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and layouts to ensure proper installation
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively
  • Ensure all work meets federal, commercial, and company quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with supervisors, quality managers, inspectors, and other trades to maintain schedule and quality
  • Communicate with the jobsite foreman, supervisors, and crew on a consistent basis regarding tasks, materials, tools, and resources
  • Perform punch-list, corrective, and closeout work as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
  • Assist with material handling, site preparation, and selective demolition as required
  • Work independently and as part of a crew, maintaining productivity, workmanship, and schedule adherence always.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial carpentry experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of commercial construction methods and materials, including general building code requirements.
  • Experience working with metal framing, drywall, doors/frames/hardware, acoustical ceilings and bathroom accessories.
  • Knowledge of ADA/ABA accessibility requirements preferred
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools common to the trade
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to lift materials, work on ladders/lifts, and perform physical labor
  • Reliable transportation
  • Professional appearance and attitude

Working Conditions
Primarily performed on active construction sites (indoor and outdoor), including commercial and government projects. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and lifting materials 50+ lbs.
