Job description

KEITH is seeking a CEI Inspector to support FDOT transportation infrastructure projects. This is a hands‑on field role responsible for inspecting roadway and bridge construction activities, confirming contractor compliance, and performing technical field testing.


You’ll work under the guidance of a Senior Inspector, contributing directly to day‑to‑day inspection activities while gaining exposure to complex FDOT projects and best‑in‑class CEI practices.
This role is ideal for an inspector who thrives in an active construction environment, takes pride in accurate documentation, and wants to grow within a strongly supported CEI team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily inspection activities on FDOT roadway and bridge construction projects (excluding CC2 bridge structures)
  • Assist with and verify field surveying, construction layout, and engineering computations
  • Perform field testing and verify compliance with FDOT Standard Specifications, Standard Plans, and contract documents
  • Accurately document daily construction activities, including:
    • PrC entries
    • VT reports
    • Pay item quantity tracking
    • Contractor progress verification
  • Coordinate professionally with contractors, Senior Inspectors, and project staff to resolve field issues efficiently

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector – Level I
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
  • CTQP Asphalt Paving – Levels I & II
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection – Levels I & II
  • CTQP Final Estimates – Level I
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion & Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience, including at least 1 year on FDOT roadway and/or bridge projects
  • Working knowledge of FDOT specifications, standard plans, and CEI documentation requirements
  • Experience with field testing, materials verification, and CEI documentation tools (e.g., PrC, MAC)
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills when working with contractors and engineers
  • Ability to work independently while representing KEITH professionally in the field
