How You’ll Contribute:

At Diversified, we design and deliver technology solutions that protect, connect and elevate the world’s most complex environments. Within our Electronic Security Solutions (ESS) team, we go beyond traditional security, engineering integrated electronic security systems including IP-based access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection systems that safeguard people, assets and operations.

The Senior Installation Superintendent – Electronic Security is a senior field leadership role responsible for delivering complex ESS installations across client sites. You will lead onsite execution of integrated electronic security systems, acting as the primary point of contact and the senior decision-maker responsible for keeping projects on track throughout the installation lifecycle.

Working closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams, you will interpret system designs and drawings to deliver access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems to specification. This role combines technical expertise, site leadership, and coordination across multiple stakeholders to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

NOTE - this position is based in Cedar Rapids IA; we require that you reside in - or are willing to relocate to - Cedar Rapids.  Relocation assistance is available.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the primary onsite point of contact for clients, representing Diversified during installation activities.
  • Lead and coordinate installation across multiple projects, teams, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with scope, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Deliver and oversee installation of access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Interpret drawings, BOMs, and system designs to guide installation and ensure accurate system delivery.
  • Manage project schedules and labour tracking, maintaining progress and escalating risks where required.
  • Delegate and oversee work across technicians and subcontractors, ensuring accountability, productivity, and quality outcomes.
  • Monitor onsite performance and ensure adherence to DIV28 standards, installation processes, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including milestones, site readiness, inventory, RFIs, and redlines.
  • Identify and resolve installation or design issues in collaboration with project managers and design engineers.
  • Support installation, testing, and troubleshooting of IP-based access control, CCTV, and intercom systems while mentoring technicians and managing multiple job sites.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The employee may be exposed to construction site conditions on a regular basis and is responsible for complying with all safety regulations and PPE requirements.

The role involves standing and moving around job sites for extended periods, climbing ladders, using stairs, and lifting or moving materials up to 40 pounds. The position also requires the use of tools, test equipment, and computer systems for installation and documentation activities. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Travel:

Frequent travel by car and occasional air travel is required. Local travel (typically within a 2-hour radius) represents the majority of work, with additional remote travel as needed. A valid driver’s license is required in state of residence, and personal vehicle use will be reimbursed in line with company policy.

Safety:

  • Maintain and wear appropriate PPE as required for all job site activities.
  • Ensure hazards are identified, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner.


What You’ll Bring:

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates/bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Lenel Certification, preferred.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with electronic security systems installation and project support, including documentation and daily administration tasks.
  • Must have knowledge of the following documents: Teams, Outlook, OneNote, BlueBeam/Adobe Reader, Project drawing, Programming Matrix, SRDs, UILs, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), Task Hazard Analysis (THAs), Risk Hazard Analysis (RHAs), RFIs, Redlines.
  • Experience with the following systems: Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Honeywell, Software House, Bosch, DMP.
  • Must have the ability to understand access control/CCTV systems, install ACS, CCTV, intercom related equipment, and troubleshoot and fix problems during installation, including making PC-level admin changes for IP camera connection, aiming, and adjustment.
  • Knowledge in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electric locking hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Knowledge of accessing network interface for connection to devices such as access controllers, IP cameras, Intercoms, switches and such.
  • Clean driving record and ability to operate a vehicle.
  • Clean criminal record and able to hold a security clearance/registration for your local jurisdiction (DCJS, TS Clearance, etc).
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one, with ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work indoors/outdoors, standing, sitting and ladder use; ability to lift 40lbs.
