Occupational Health Therapist - Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA)

Hiring Range: $67,222.80 - $88,229.93
This is an exempt (salaried) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity consideration included an assessment of the applicant's salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirement for the job.
This role is on-site 5 days a week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A county car will be provided for this role.
Position Summary
Performs work evaluating andadministering treatments for patients with sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor, feeding, functional play, self care, attention and motor disorders. This position works independently under generalsupervision assessing, planning, organizing, and participating inrehabilitative programs that help build or restore persons with disabilities ordevelopmental delays. This role is primarily a treatment role.

At NC DHHS the Division of Childand Family Well-Being (DCFW) focuses on supporting whole child and familyhealth and well-being for North Carolinians. DCFW works to ensure that NorthCarolina's children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing andresilient families and communities. DCFW has complementary programs from theDivisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximizeservices and outcomes for children and their families, including nutritionprograms (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health andprevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral healthservices, and early intervention programs. The North Carolina EarlyIntervention Section (NCEI) is a part of the N.C. Division of Child and FamilyWell-being. It is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP).The Infant-Toddler Program provides support and services for families and theirchildren, birth to three who have special needs. Research shows that this timeperiod is critical. It offers a window of opportunity to make a positivedifference in how a child develops and learns. Children's DevelopmentalServices Agencies (CDSAs) across North Carolina work with local serviceproviders to help families help their children succeed.
Essential Functions
• Examine, test, diagnose, and administer treatments forpatients with sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor, feeding, attention, functional play.
• Refer patients to other agencies for treatment ofproblems related to or underlying sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor, feeding, attention, functional play.
• Serve as one of two or more disciplines conductinginitial evaluations and assessing all areas of a child's development for NCInfant-Toddler Program eligibility and ongoing intervention.
• Provide discipline-specific evaluations with childrenbirth to age three, following appropriate evaluation procedures and protocols.
• Utilize appropriate evaluation instruments and protocolto address referral questions with
individual children.
• Participate in gathering and discussing evaluationinformation and results with parents and other staff in ways that address theirconcerns and priorities.
• This role includes a fluctuating caseload of treatment cases. It ranges from 20-25 cases/week.
• Write assessment reports that follow professional,state, and department guidelines.
• Bill for services as approved/documented.
• Provide input for the modification of services andsupport as part of treatment planning.
• Develop, coordinate, and conduct staff training(in-service).
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of two years of relevant experience working withyoung children and their families.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy,Speech Pathology, or related field.

Licenses and Certifications
• North Carolina licensure as issued by the Board ofExaminers for Speech and Language
Pathologists or Audiologists or Occupational Therapy
• Certification by the American Occupational Association
• Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver'sLicense
• Requires County Driving Privileges
• Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
