Job description

Position Description: This role is hosted at our partner company CDN Logistics, Inc.Click Here to learn more about CDN and to apply directly on this role on the CDN website. The Custom Companies is partnering with CDN to fill this role. The Master of the Move: Join Our Dock Operations Team
We don’t just move freight; we deliver promises. We are looking for a Dockworker who views logistics as an art form—someone who understands that a "high and tight" load is the difference between a satisfied customer and a missed opportunity.
If you are detail-oriented, physically driven, and tired of "just another warehouse job," it’s time to join a team that values your precision as much as your pace.
The Mission
You are the guardian of our freight. Your goal is simple but vital: Ensure every shipment leaves our dock in better condition than it arrived. You aren’t just moving boxes; you are managing the "First In, First Out" flow that keeps our entire network synchronized.
CDN Logistics, Inc. in Northlake, IL is a key part of our transportation and logistics company. We offer truckload, LTL, temperature-controlled, flatbed, and expedited shipping, plus warehousing, freight management, and brokerage across North America.
What You’ll Do (The Daily Hustle)
The "Perfect Wall" Architect: You’ll load trailers high and tight, using air bags and dunnage like a pro to ensure nothing shifts. You’ll even document your masterpiece with photos of every wall you build.
Precision Inspections: You’ll be the "eyes and ears" on the floor—performing reweighs, checking labels against the CLI system, and inspecting every piece of equipment for suitability before a wheel even turns.
Operational Excellence: From sweeping out trailers to ensure a clean start to shrink-wrapping and recouping distressed freight, you treat every shipment like it’s your own.
Equipment Mastery: You’ll start every shift with a tactical inspection of your lift truck, ensuring your tools are as ready for the day as you are.
Why You’re the Ideal Candidate
You Hate Shipping Errors: You have a "zero-claims" mentality. You double-check trailer numbers and bay doors because you know that "almost right" is wrong.
You’re a Finisher: You perform post-dock checks after every load because you don't leave things to chance.
You Value Professionalism: You take pride in a clean workspace and a well-maintained forklift. To you, housekeeping isn't a chore; it’s part of a high-functioning environment.
You’re Agile: You can pivot from unloading a trailer to building a new load on the fly to keep the floor moving.
What We Offer
A Culture of Respect: We know the dock is where the hard work happens. We provide the equipment and the support you need to succeed.
A Fast-Paced Environment: Your shift will fly by as you solve the daily puzzle of freight flow.
A Path Forward: We value people who take initiative. If you can master the dock, you can master our business.
Ready to claim your spot on the line?
