Job description

Position Summary:  The Machine and Parts Cleaner is responsible for cleaning all of the machines and machine parts as stated in Swiss American CDMO Standard Operating Procedures and other duties assigned by the Sanitation Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble, clean and sanitize all machines to include tube fillers, bottle fillers, Packette machine, single and dual head piston fillers, and all other filling and packaging equipment or machines that are used during filling, packaging processes.
  • Properly clean and sanitize all ancillary equipment following the Standard Operating Procedures set by Swiss American CDMO.
  • Re-assemble cleaned and sanitized ancillary equipment, machines and parts, when needed if necessary.
  • Place cleaned and sanitized equipment or machine and machine parts on designated cart and cover with clean plastic and move to Filling and Packaging Room designated clean equipment storage area.
  • Disassemble and properly clean and sanitize all air pumps that require cleaning following the Standard Operating Procedure set by Swiss American CDMO.
  • Reassemble the cleaned and sanitized air operated pump.
  • Disassemble and properly clean and sanitize all totes following the Standard Operating Procedure set by Swiss American CDMO.
  • Document all required information in the Cleaning Logbook and attach a cleaning tag to the tube fillers, bottle fillers, Packette machine, single and dual head piston fillers, and all other filling and packaging equipment or machines that are used during filling, packaging processes if applicable.
  • Re-sanitize equipment including the tube fillers, bottle fillers, Packette machine, single and dual head piston fillers, and all other filling and packaging equipment or machines that are used during filling, packaging processes.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Cleaning Room. Minimize any standing water on the floor, clean and sanitize the stainless-steel sinks and framework, walls, and carts that have the machines, machine parts, pipe racks, air pumps and any other ancillary equipment.
  • Communicate any and all issues that may be present during or after performing job tasks to Sanitation leadership.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, trade school diploma, or relevant mechanical experience preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents (safety rules, operating instructions, manuals).
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to follow instructions and apply common sense in a practical, hands-on setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify potential problems.
