Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provide districtwide leadership for health education and clinical training with a primary emphasis on diabetes management for students. Ensure consistent, compliant practice across campuses through training of school nurses, Unlicensed Diabetic Care Assistant (UDCA), and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). Lead family education, employee training, community outreach, grant coordination, and emergency preparedness initiatives. Support both newly diagnosed students and continuation of care for students with existing diagnoses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing related field
  • Valid Current Registered Nurse License (RN) from the Texas Board of Nursing
  • CPR Certified
  • Certified Board of Diabetes Care and Education (CDCES) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Pediatric diabetes management expertise; adult learning and training design; leadership and communication; collaboration; regulatory compliance.

 
Experience:

  • 3 years nursing experience; school health, pediatrics, public health, or diabetes education preferred.
