Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant to the Culinary Director to join our team! This position is responsible for supporting the Culinary Director in carrying out our community's mission of providing pleasant mealtime experiences to residents, staff, families, and visitors through the appropriate preparation, presentation and distribution of food. Five Star customer service is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and maintains proper sanitation procedures for preparation and storage of food and cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
  • Can step into any of the Culinary roles if needed.
  • Assist Culinary Director with food purchasing, managing storage of food, food production and timely service of meals.
  • Helps develop standardized recipes, with modified diets and extensions when needed, and meal planning.
  • Assists Culinary Director in managing and supervising all dietary functions and personnel; has a hand in ongoing training of department personnel.
  • Communicates effectively with nursing, the consulting Registered Dietitian, Residents and at times, Family Members.
  • Manage reporting compliance.
  • May occasionally be required to work extended hours, including but not limited to weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:   The Assistant Culinary Manager must be working towards (or a graduate of) an approved Certified Dietary Manager’s course that meets the state and federal care regulations.

  • Clinical and cooking experience required. 
  • ServSafe certification required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and advocate for Resident centered/directed care to team members, families, physicians, allied health professionals and the at large community.
